If you’ve stayed with us before, you know we do everything we can to ensure a positive experience for our guests. Recently, we’ve noticed an alarming trend–we’ve gotten too popular! Just the other day, we turned away no fewer than 20 guests who called for a last minute stay–it was a bit of a “sorry” telethon :-(. We were completely booked and the laws of physics prevent us from creating rooms out of nothing. Right now (end of August 2015), we’re booked into October 2015 already (with a few patchy openings here and there throughout September), with additional bookings already into next summer.
We just hate saying “no” to potential guests. We recognize that you can’t always plan your trip in advance; for those who do, the rewards can be great (lower rates starting October 1,2015, for example, as we go into the “off season”). It used to be that our guests booked their stay an average of three weeks prior to arriving, but we’re seeing that stretch closer to 6 weeks or more.
Our advice is, that if you see the room you want available for the dates you want, reserve it right away using our real-time online reservations system. Be sure to check your email for your confirmation and let us know if you don’t receive it right away. There’s never a charge* for rescheduling your stay should your dates change, or for cancelling with a documented medical or travel-related reason. (*Unfortunately, due to rising credit card fees to accept deposits and also to offer refunds, we’ve been forced to add a cancellation charge for all cancellations that are not rescheduled or for a documented medical or blocked-travel reason.)
We’re so happy more and more guests have found their way to Domaine Madeleine (and continue to reward us with kind reviews of our services, for which we are very grateful). We just want to be sure every guest who wants to stay here gets to stay here, and the best way to do that is to try to plan ahead a bit if you can.
